Mustang Restoration

1966 Ford Mustang Coupe

Way back in 1976, when I was 17 years old, my Dad took me shopping for my first car. We listened to the sales pitches of several used car dealers, but I quickly learned that the dealers didn't have much to offer that was within my limited price range.

During the drive home, I began to lower my expectations of what kind of car I might be able to afford to buy. As we approached our house, we saw a Mustang for sale in a neighbors's yard. We checked it over and after a brief test drive, I paid $450 for my first car!

The Mustang was ten years old then, and it had already seen a lot of miles and accumulated some rust. I found that the six cylinder engine was easy to maintain, and during the next ten years, I put another 100,000 miles on it.

After that, it sat in the driveway until I finally started the restoration in 1995. Three years later, I am still working on it, but now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Here are some pictures to give you an idea of what I have gotten myself into.

Will I ever get this car back on the road? With some hard work, a lot of time, a ton of money, and some help from C J's Pony Parts maybe I will!
